4. Revolutionaries

1. Alluri Sitarama Raju (1897-1924) : 

Played Key role in merging tribal demand with the principles of Non-Cooperation movement. Organized tribals for armed rebellion "Rampa Revolt" against colonial rulers. 

2. Anand Laxman Karkare : 

A member of Abhinav Bharat Society, who threw the bomb on Jackson, the District Magistrate of Nasik. 

3. Asur Singh : 

A revolutionary who killed policemen and sabotaged railway lines credited with a vital role in Delhi conspiracy case. 

4. Ajay Kumar Ghosh : 

Associated with revolutionary activities in U.P. and Punjab involved in Lahore conspiracy, worked for workers right. A well known Marxist who contributed to the communist movement in India. 

5. Ajit Singh : 

A revolutionary leader, was deported to Mandalay in 1907 for anti-British activities. After being released founded Bharat Mata Society and Journal 'Peshwa'. 

6. Ashfaqullah Khan : 

Joined Non-Cooperation movement became disillusioned by its withdrawal and then joined Hindustan Socialist Republican Army, was a secular and patriot, took part in Kakori train robbery. 

7. Bhai Parmanand (1874-1947) : 

Assisted Lala Hardayal in organizing the activities of Ghadar Party in USA, strong Arya Samajist who resented certain policies of Congress which he thought were Pro-Muslim. 

8. Bir Singh : 

Involved in the activites of Gadar party in Canada. After returning to India in 1914, organised a terrorist movement and was arrested on charge of conspiracy. 

9. Bhai Balmukund (1891-1919) : 

Disciple of Lala Lajpat Rai but later drawn towards the revolutionary groups of Lala Hardayal and Rasbehari Bose. He was involved in Delhi conspiracy case. 

10. Barindra Kumar Ghosh (1880-1959) : 

Influenced by the revolutionary philosophy of Aurobindo Ghosh, one of the founder member of secret organization 'Anushilan Samiti' helped in starting the weekly Yugantar. 

11. Bhagat Singh : 

A revolutionary, he killed police officer Saunders to avenge Lala Lajpat Rai's death. He also threw a bomb in the Central Legislative Assembly protesting against two government bills, for which was arrested, tried in Lahore conspiracy case and scentenced to death. 

12. Chandra Shekhar Azad : 

A revolutionary leader took part in the Kakori train robbery. Become a leader of Hindustan Socialist Republican Army, heading its military division. Shot himself at Alfred Park, Allahabad. 

13. Dr. Champakraman Pillai (1891-1934) : 

Organised International pro-India Committee at Zurich, and the Indian National Volunteer Corps in Germany. Also, founded Indian National Party at Berlin. Also, involved in a conflict with Adolf Hitler for his anti-India remarks. 

14. Chapekar Brothers : 

Ramakrishna, Damodar and Vasudev Chapekar. They organized a society for imparting military training for overthrowing British rule. Committed the first political murder by killing plague officer Mr. Rand. 

15. Ganesh Shankar Vidarthi : 

Published newsweekly 'Pratap' from Kanpur. He had a secular approach and wrote in the interest of peasants and working class. 

16. Hemchandra Kanungo : 

A revolutionary, he denounced the then prevalent religiosity in the various organizations, during anti partition movement. He undertook military training in Paris. 

17. Jatindranath Mukherjee (1880-1915) : 

Joined revolutionary party and carried out it's activities in Bengal and Bihar. He was involved in Samsul Alam case and Howrah conspiracy case, nicknamed as 'Bagha Jatin'. 

18. Jatindranath Das (1904-1924) : 

A revolutionary and a member of Hindustan Socialist Republican Army, was arrested in Lahore conspiracy case. Died a martyr's death after observing a fast for 63 days. 

19. Khudiram Bose (1889-1908) : 

Participated in Swadeshi movement and later joined a revolutionary group. Organized attack on the Governor of Bengal and Sessions Judge of Muzaffarpur Kingsford. 

20. Lala Hardayal (1884-1939) : 

Helped to organize the Gadar party in San Fransisco which tried to ignite revolution in Punjab during World War-I. Later devoted himself to writing and lecturing.
